Collecting, defined as a science, a hobby or a craze, according to the view point of many, has conquered the world. Some people are professed non-collectors, but a quick review of their life-style will disclose that they own many pairs of shoes that they can’t ever wear, have a set of unused power tools that is the envy of the neighborhood, or some other accumulation that pleases them.
Fulfilling the collecting urge presumes money to buy the desired items. Without it one can only be an unwilling non-collector. The great mass of us are somewhere in between the two extremes of obsessed and uninterested. We (stamp collectors) do what we enjoy and let it go at that.
